Datuk Seri Syed Ali Alhabshee
This is what I call audacity. And it's also not giving a toss about being accountable to the rakyat.
I am talking about the complacency displayed by 1Malaysia Development Berhad president Arul Kanda his predecessor Shahrol Halmi.
Arul's tedious explanation about prior engagements that prevented him from turning up at the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hearing on Monday cannot be accepted.
Billions of dollars have vanished from the sovereign fund. There is huge public outrage.
Malaysians are angry as evidence circulating in the media thus far points to rampant corruption and greed.
Malaysians are furious that their money have been used to fuel expensive habits of flamboyant businessmen, such as Low Taek Jho, commonly known as Jho Low.
And attempts to bailout the ailing development fund, due to financial mismanagement, by using Tabung Haji was the straw that broke the camel's back.
And yet Kanda and Shahrol go about displaying their arrogance by recklessly asking to reschedule the hearing date.
The scandal that is rocking 1MDB broke months back. And yet Arul needs thirty days to get documents together to present before the PAC.
This is another excuse. Maybe these people are buying time for whatever reason.
They must however understand that such delay tactics only serve to undermine the credibility of Prime Minister YAB DS Najib Razak even further.
So enough is enough.
I only have one message for Arul and Shahrol: grow up, be responsible and turn up for the next PAC hearing like a man.
