Datuk Seri Syed Ali Alhabshee
Let me get this straight. 1Malaysia Development Berhad's top boss, Arul Kanda, could not attend the Public Accounts Committee's hearing on Monday and Tuesday.
But could rush back from his overseas engagement to attend a private dinner session with prominent people such as the BNBBC chairman Shahrir Samad in the Aloft in KL Sentral Wednesday night.
Let's get the sequence of events right - Arul supposedly slips away
overseas, he apologizes for not being able to turn up for PAC hearing
due to prior engagements, Shahrir speaks to the media demanding deputy
Prime Minister YAB TS Muhyiddin Yassin makes a public stand about the
1MDB fiasco and then Arul magically turns up for a cozy dinner do with
Shahrir and others.
This is a sandiwara, which leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
A huge sum of money has vanished from the country's sovereign fund, which was supposed to be channeled for national development.
And we have paper trails leading to businessman cum fervent partygoer, Low Taek Jho, better known as Jho Low.
People are hopping mad. Their anger holds water. We are yet to hear any concrete explanation about what happened to billions of dollars.

So instead of secret meetings, back door deals and trying to use the 1MDB financial mess for political gain, let's put the accounts straight.
To Arul, his predecessor and the 1MDB board - please respect the rakyat. Please understand the money that has gone up in thin air belongs to the people.
So stop your political maneuvering and just go tell PAC members the truth, for once.
